Meaco Sefte 8 vs Sefte Pro 10: Which Cordless Fan Should You Buy?

The Meaco Sefte 8 vs Sefte Pro 10 comparison is a choice between a smaller portable fan and a larger model with more control options. Both can operate from a battery, but that does not make them interchangeable. Start with how far you will carry the fan, where it will stand and how much of its extra functionality you need.

This is a research-based buying guide, not a hands-on test. We checked manufacturer information and available retailer listings on 20 October 2026. We have not measured airflow, noise, reliability or real-world energy use. Check the exact model, UK plug, seller, price and availability before ordering.

The comparison uses Meaco’s Sefte 8 specification and Sefte Pro 10 Table specification. The standard Sefte 10 Table is a separate mains-powered model; confirm that a 10-inch listing actually says Pro if battery operation is essential.

Choose the 8-inch model for a smaller portable setup

The smaller model deserves a look if it will live close to you on a desk or bedside table and you expect to carry it frequently. Saving weight and table space can matter more than buying the largest fan in the range. Check the actual position, including room for the moving head and an unobstructed air path.

A smaller fan is not automatically quieter at the breeze you need. Meaco lists starting noise figures of 27dB for the 8-inch and 25dB for the Pro 10. These are manufacturer minimum figures, not a matched test from us. Choose a suitable operating speed and distance, rather than assuming the smaller diameter guarantees less disturbance.

Choose the Pro 10 for its controls and movement

The larger Pro is more interesting if you will use powered vertical movement or app control. Meaco lists horizontal and vertical oscillation ranges and app compatibility. These features can help you direct airflow when the fan serves different seating positions, but they are not evidence that the room’s air temperature will fall.

Think about how often you will actually carry it. A fan moved once between the bedroom and living room is a different purchase from one lifted repeatedly throughout the day. Check the carry arrangement and charging location, and confirm the exact package contents before comparing prices.

Do not compare battery headlines as guaranteed runtimes

The “up to” figures are manufacturer maxima. They do not mean either fan will provide its strongest airflow for that period, or that both headline tests use equivalent settings. Speed, oscillation, battery age and other settings can change the time between charges. Check the manual for the conditions relevant to your use.

For example, a person needing two hours of occasional desk use has a different requirement from someone expecting a full evening at high speed away from a socket. Write down the hours you need before deciding whether a longer advertised maximum is worth the extra size and purchase price.

What is the electricity-cost difference?

Meaco lists 1–18W for the Sefte 8 and 8–26W for the Pro 10. At an illustrative 25p/kWh, their upper figures give 0.45p and 0.65p per hour respectively. Over 30 eight-hour days the arithmetic is £1.08 and £1.56. This is not a matched airflow test and excludes charging losses and any additional standby use.

Treat battery operation as flexibility, rather than free energy: the electricity used to recharge it still has to come from somewhere. Use the supplied or approved charging equipment and follow the manufacturer’s charging and storage instructions. Cordless does not automatically mean rainproof or suitable for use in wet conditions.

Our buying verdict and availability check

Shortlist the Sefte 8 when lower weight and a smaller table setup are your priorities. Consider the Pro 10 if its extra movement, smart controls and battery specification fit your routine. Both direct Meaco pages showed out of stock at our check; the Sefte 8 page gave February 2027 as its expected return. Dates and retailer stock can change.

Will a cordless fan replace a portable air conditioner?

A fan creates a breeze that can help you feel cooler; it does not refrigerate the room. If you need to reduce the air temperature, investigate an appropriately sized air conditioner and its installation requirements instead.
