Comparing the MeacoFan Sefte 10 vs 1056 is mainly a choice about controls, positioning and the price available when you buy. Both are mains-powered table air circulators. The newer Sefte has useful night-time conveniences, while the 1056 remains worth comparing if its simpler feature set suits your room.
This is a research-based buying guide, not a hands-on test. We checked manufacturer information and available retailer listings on 20 October 2026. We have not measured airflow, noise, reliability or real-world energy use. Check the exact model, UK plug, seller, price and availability before ordering.

Which would we shortlist for a bedroom?
Our buying judgement favours the Sefte if you regularly change settings in the dark and dislike illuminated displays or confirmation beeps. Its glow-in-the-dark magnetic remote and Night mode are practical reasons to consider it. They are more useful to weigh than a claim that any fan is completely silent.
Meaco publishes starting noise figures of 25dB for Sefte and 29dB for the 1056. Those are manufacturer figures at their stated operating conditions, not a matched test by us. They do not establish how either fan will sound at the airflow you need. Motor tone, oscillation noise, distance from the bed and the surface it stands on also affect the experience.
When the 1056 may be the better buy
Consider the 1056 if you want multiple speeds, a remote and automatic movement in both directions, and do not need Sefte’s extra night-time controls. Compare the delivered price and seller terms at the time of purchase. If a discounted 1056 already provides the functions you will use, paying more for an alternative may not add much practical value.
If you already own a working 1056, first try a different safe position and a lower speed before replacing it. A new fan is not automatically an upgrade to comfort. Measure the table, check cable reach and ensure the moving head will not hit a wall, curtain or nearby object.
Will the wattage difference save much money?
Using the published upper power figures and an illustrative 25p/kWh, 26W costs 0.65p per hour and 24W costs 0.6p per hour. At eight hours per day for 30 days, the examples are £1.56 and £1.44 respectively. This arithmetic is not a measured comparison at equal airflow.
A 12p difference in that particular month would not justify a large purchase-price premium on electricity savings alone. Actual speed settings and operating hours matter more to the calculation. Use your own unit rate; 25p/kWh is not a quotation of today’s tariff.
What neither fan will do
A fan creates a breeze that can help you feel cooler; it does not refrigerate the room. If you need to reduce the air temperature, investigate an appropriately sized air conditioner and its installation requirements instead. Read our portable air-conditioner running-cost guide and our portable air-conditioner BTU sizing guide before moving from a fan to compressor cooling.
Availability and final buying checks
The direct Meaco pages showed both models out of stock when checked on 20 October 2026. Retailer availability can differ and can change. Use the links to check current options; do not assume that a search result, old price or “next-day delivery” banner means this exact product is available.
Check whether accessories or a storage bag are included with the particular offer, and confirm current warranty terms. Read the supplied manual, keep the air path clear and unplug before cleaning. Our recommendation is to buy around the controls and position you need, rather than buying solely because one model is newer.

Does the standard Sefte Table have a rechargeable battery?
The standard 10-inch Table model discussed here is mains powered. The Sefte Pro 10-inch Table is a different model with battery capability.
Is the 1056 a portable air conditioner?
No. It is an air circulator. It moves air rather than using a compressor to remove heat from the room.
